Abstract
The feasibility of implementing wideband analog cells in standard very large scale integration (VLSI) complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology was demonstrated. These circuits are important in the development of single-chip mixed-mode systems for wireless and video applications. A number of devices that utilize wideband CMOS analog cells have already been developed. These include a GHz low-noise optical preamplifier for fiber optic receivers and a novel GHz band tuneable active inductor with very low series resistance.
