Abstract

The aim of the study is to improve the traditional ways of soliciting donation funds via encouraging contributors through interactive donation box. One of the most frequent ways of raising funds is just soliciting people for money, and it sometimes makes people annoying and imposes a heavy burden. Furthermore, it is noticed that there have been not so many ways for collecting contributions up to now. Therefore, it is easily justified that the improvement of raising donation method could enhance the donation environment and culture. This study suggests an interactive donation box using visual incentives and donation feedback. An experiment was performed to show the effectiveness of the interactive donations box by comparing a conventional donation box and the interactive donation box. The results show the interactive donation box draws more donators by stimulates their selfish motive. There would be many applications that the study could be implemented, such as culture heritage, relief, public goods, and funding for nature.
