Abstract
Two-electron and four-electron reduction of dioxygen by an acid-stable NADH model compound, 10-methylacridan, occurs efficiently when catalysed by metalloporphyrins and by both metalloporphyrins and iodide ion in the presence of perchloric acid in acetonitrile, respectively.
