Abstract

This paper reveals the characteristics of the United States' anti-dumping measures against the Northeast Asian Dynamic Economies (NADEs), which have rarely been studied in the literature. The structure of the paper is as follows. In the next section, the GATT/WTO regulations and the United States' anti-dumping laws are briefly explained. In Section 3, the characteristics of the United States' anti-dumping decisions against the NADEs are revealed. In Section 4, empirical evidence on testing whether some macroeconomic variables of the NADEs such as exports, bilateral trade surpluses and economic growth affected the US anti-dumping decisions or not are provided. The final section summarises the overall results.
