N2 - Purpose: As the United States enters a demographic landscape where racial and ethnic minorities will represent more than half of the adolescent population, this current state-of-the art review highlights pertinent research that focuses on race/ethnicity for interpersonal adolescent violence published between 2005 and 2015. Methods: A systematic and exhaustive search of several academic databases such as Criminal Justice Abstracts, Web of Knowledge, and EBSCO Host was conducted. Google Scholar searches were conducted to locate articles that are "in press.". Results: This state-of-the-art review discusses the complexities in the relationship between race, ethnicity, and interpersonal adolescent violence, as well as the theoretical and policy implications. Conclusions: These studies are relevant because they elucidate existing criminological theories and inform policies and programs aimed at curtailing adolescent violence.
