Abstract
Although the importance of workplace learning has been recognized in research and practice, there is little empirical support that describes how workplace learning, including both formal and informal learning, is linked to organizational performance. This study investigated the influence of investment in workplace learning on learning outcomes and organizational performance using the 2005 and 2007 Human Capital Corporate Panel survey of South Korean companies. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The study found that investment in workplace learning influences organizational performance through the outcomes of workplace learning. Implications for human resource development research and practice are discussed.
