Abstract
This article examines the theoretical claims made about the role of conflict resolution, especially workshop, facilitation, and project oriented approaches in the context of the cases of Sri Lanka and Cyprus. It argues that conflict resolution approaches, while proving to have made significant contributions to the emergence of a viable peace process on both islands, continue to present some major dilemmas that have yet to be addressed in either context.
