Abstract

In this study, structural performance was evaluated to verify the field applicability of precast concrete double-tee slabs with dapped ends. Shear and flexural tests of PC slabs were performed with main variables such as shape and shear reinforcement at dapped ends, flexural reinforcement ratio, and shear span to depth ratio. According to the test results, the shear capacity of dapped ends without shear reinforcement and the flexural capacity of the PC slabs can be reasonably estimated using the KCI model code. Since large stresses locally develop near reentrant corners of notches, shear reinforcement at dapped ends should be designed with a strut-and-tie model.
