title = "Sparcity-induced structured transform in intra video coding for screen contents",
abstract = "In this paper, we propose a novel transform method based on learning a sparse model of residue in intra video coding. The proposed method considers generation of transformed coefficients locally grouped in a block as well as the sparsity of the coefficients, which can improve the coding efficiency of the screen content videos such as computer synthetic videos. The proposed method trains the transform on-line with using the residue, applied to the current frame. It is demonstrated with experiments that the proposed method improves the coding gain over HEVC Range extension standard.",
