Abstract

EDITOR’S NOTE Prof. T. H. Kim at Ewha Womans University published a paper in Journal of the Korean Physical Society (JKPS). Its title was “Temperature Dependence of the Tunneling Magnetoresistance and Ferromagnetism in Ni65Cu35 Magnetic Tunnel Junctions.” In the paper significant portions of Introduction and Conclusion sections are almost identical to a paper published in Physical Review B (PRB) [“Tunneling spin polarization in magnetic tunnel junctions near the Curie temperature” Physical Review B 72, 100401(R), (2005) by A. T. Hindmarch, C. H. Marrows, and B. J. Hickey]. Plagiarism not only is against the scientific ethics but also raises legal problems. We regard this plagiarism seriously and retract the paper from JKPS. An apology from the authors for this grave error is printed below. AUTHOR’S APOLOGY I published a paper, whose significant portion of Introduction and Conclusion sections are almost identical to a paper published in PRB, in JKPS. I agree with the Editors that such a plagiarism should have been avoided, and I would like to sincerely apologize for this matter. T. H. Kim.
