Abstract

Samples of high-purity NbN1-x were prepared by a high temperature technique. Single-crystal studies revealed the twinning of the tetragonal low temperature phase which forms when cubic NbN1-x is cooled from a high temperature. The X-ray diffraction results confirm the previously found structure of tetragonal NbN1-x.
