Abstract

The reactions of the dodecanuclear cluster anion [Re12CS 17(CN)6]6- with ammoniacal solutions of the divalent copper salts, CuCl2 and Cu(en)2Cl2, were studied. Two new ionic compounds [Cu(NH3)5] 3[Re12CS17(CN)6]•8H 2O (1) and Cu(NH3)(en)2][Cu(NH 3)3(en)]2-[Re12CS 17(CN)6]•5H2O (2) were synthesized. The structures of both compounds were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
