Abstract

The measurements of delayed ionization of the metallofullerene La@C82 was presented. The La@C82 was found to ionize over several microseconds, when highly excited in laser desorption. It was shown that the behavior of La@C82 can be modeled with available information on the ionization potential, dissociation energy and a reasonable assumption about the radiative cooling rate.
