Abstract
Intermolecular energy transfer in photo- and electroluminescence properties of a europium(III) complex dispersed in poly(vinylcarbazole) was discussed. Both Gd(TTA)3Phen and tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) were used as an electron transporting layer in order to compare their electron energy transfer properties in organic light emitting diodes (OLED). Results showed that the light emitting diodes of the device I emitted only red light from Eu(III) and the device II emitted both green and red lights and revealed a strong electric field dependence in the ratio of emitted light intensities in green and red.
