Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the estimate method for measuring the economic scale of radiation usage of industrial sector in Korea. Economic scale for radiation usage is necessary for the government to make efforts to citizens' knowledge of radiation and its use is accurate, by providing meaningful information, and actively disclosing information in order for people to obtain a better understanding. With reference to cases estimating the economic scale of radiation use in the United States and Japan, the estimate method proper in Korea can be derived. Two countries use different methods. Therefore, when estimating the economic scale of radiation use in Korea, the same methodology of the two reference countries will not be able to be used. This paper reviews estimation method of US and Japan, studies viability, considerations, and notices. This paper suggests three implications through the study when Korea tried to estimate economic scale for radiation usage in industrial sectors.
