Highly effective fluorescent sensor for Hg2+ in aqueous solution

Abstract

A new anthracene fluorophore senses Hg2+ selectively in aqueous solution. Among the metal ions examined, fluorescent chemosensor 1 shows selective large CHEQ effects with Hg2+ and Ag+ at pH 7.
