High temperature X-ray diffraction and landau theory investigations of thermal symmetry-breaking transitions

Abstract

The Landau theory of symmetry and phase transitions is applied to the thermal symmetry-breaking transitions corresponding to the special point W in the case of the NaCI-type structure. The results are shown to include the ordered structure of defect niobium mononitride.
