Abstract

A new fluorescein derivative has been synthesized for the detection of pyrophosphate (PPi) and ATP in 100% aqueous solution. Chemosensor 1 in the presence of Mn2+ (2.5 equiv) displayed selective fluorescent enhancements with PPi and ATP at pH 7.4. among the anions examined. The association constant of 1 in the presence of Mn2+ with PPi and ATP was calculated as 4.2 × 104 and 3.5 × 104 M-1.
