Abstract

Exact S-matrices have played essential roles in nonperturbative computations arising in AdS/CFT dualities. We review basic aspects of the world-sheet S-matrices for the AdS/CFT and their applications in an introductory level. We focus mainly on the exact S-matrix of the planar N = 4 SYM theory which consists of AdS₅/CFT₄ and its applications. S-matrices of β-and η-deformations of AdS₅/CFT₄ and AdS₄/CFT₃ and related recent developments are briefly commented.
