Abstract

An overview is given on the first photocurrent generation by indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes modified chemically with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of porphyrin-C60 linked molecules (H2-C60/ITO) and its zinc complex (ZnP-C60/ITO). The remarkable enhancement of the photocurrent generation in the porphyrin-fullerene dyad cells, compared to the corresponding porphyrin systems without C60 but with the same spacer (H2P-ref/ITO|M=2H;ZnP-ref/ITO|M=Zn) is highlighted.
