Abstract

The influence of embedding Au nanoparticles on the field-emission properties of the resulting carbonized poly(p-phenylenevinylene) nanotubes (CPNT) was investigated. The structural and electronic properties of CPNTs and Au-CPNTs were compared by Raman and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS). It was found that the investigation provided an easy method for the preparation of aligned graphitic tube-Au nanoparticle composites.
