Abstract

Asians are among the fastest growing racial groups in the United States. Although the rates of crime and delinquency among Asians are low compared to other racial groups, the rate appears to be higher in locations with a high percentage of Asian populations. The aim of this chapter is to explore crime and delinquency involving Asian Americans and Asian immigrants. More specifically, we examine (1) the types of crime and delinquency affecting Asian Americans and Asian immigrants, and (2) risk and protective factors at various contexts at the individual, family, peer, school, and community levels.
