Abstract

Reoxidation of reduced PQQ to the quinone by molecular oxygen is enhanced drastically by Ca²⁺, the interaction of which has been recently demonstrated to exist in the enzyme active site by the X-ray crystallographic analysis of quino-protein methanol dehydrogenase.
