Build to last, discount, or defer? Examining lotte's entry into the beer industry

On January 18, 2012, LotteChilsung ("Lotte") announced that it would build a beer brewery in Chungju, Korea with a capacity of 5,000 khla. At the time, the plan seemed rather far-off as construction of the plant/brewery would start in 2015 and finish by the end of 2017. But just less than two months after its original announcement, it was reported on March 8, 2012 that Lotte acquired a beer business licenseb for a smaller plant of 500 khl capacity in Eumsung, Chungcheong-do.
