Abstract

In 1922, Kolliker and Müller first presented the association between osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) and alcohol abuse [1–5]. Since then, numerous studies have confirmed this association and have provided evidence to suggest that excessive alcohol consumption can lead to ONFH [3–8].
