Abstract
A mathematical model for the hollowfibre fermenter using ultrafiltration (Park and Kim 1985b) was developed to investigate the performance of the fermenter. The model describes the behavior of the reactor well, using three parameters: the Stanton number, the Damköhler number, and the ratio of ultrafiltration rate to outlet tube-side flow rate. The experimental result was compared with the model after adjustment of parameters.
