Abstract

For secure sensor network communication, pairwise key setup between sensor nodes and a data transmission are essential. In this paper, we propose a cluster-based key setup and a data transmission mechanism based on hexagonal clustered network architecture. By adopting three dimensional coordinates, pairwise keys between neighboring nodes can be established efficiently and data can be transmitted securely. Our proposal increases the security level and resilience against node capture attacks.
