Abstract

Objective To investigate the antibacterial effects of Lactobacillus plantarum,Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus reuteri on six common pathogenic bacteria in hospital including Candida albicans,Salmonella enteritis,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methods The three kinds of probiotics and six kinds of pathogens were activated respectively, and they were diluted with sterile saline to 1.5 × 1010 CFU·L-1 strain samples. The bacteriostatic effects of three probiotics on the six pathogens were detected by the agar antibacterial test. Results There was no significant difference in the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus plantarum to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (F=2.716,P>0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus plantarum to Salmonella enteritidis was significantly lower than that to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus rhamnosus to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(F=2.400,P>0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus rhamnosus to Salmonella enteritidis was significantly lower than that to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus reuteri to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(F=0.900,P>0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus reuteri to Salmonella enteritidis was significantly lower than that to Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the antibacterial rates of the three probiotics to Candida albicans,Shigella flexneri and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (F=1.000,0.000,0.000;P>0.05).There was significant difference in the antibacterial rates of the three probiotics to Salmonella enteritis,Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus (F=3 426.000,111.000,433.000;P<0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus reuteri to Salmonella enteritidis was significantly higher than that of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus to Salmonella enteritidis (P<0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus reuteri to Escherichia coli was significantly higher than that of Lactobacillus plantarum to Escherichia coli (P<0.05);the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus reuteri to Staphylococcus aureus was significantly higher than that of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus to Staphylococcus aureus, and the antibacterial rate of Lactobacillus rhamnosus to Staphylococcus aureus was significantly higher than that of Lactobacillus plantarum to Staphylococcus aureus (P<0.05).Conclusion The probiotics of Lactobacillus plantarum,Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus reuteri have significant bacteriostatic effects on Candida albicans,Escherichia coli,Shigella flexneri,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but their antibacterial effect against Salmonella enteritis is not good.
